The AIfIA newsletter is published every other week (pretty
much) and features news about what's new with AIfIA and with
our partner sites.
So let's get to the news!
---- WHAT'S NEW WITH AIFIA -- http://www.aifia.org ----
1) INTRODUCTION TO IA BROCHURES
Two new brochures were uploaded to the IA Tools that help introduce
information architecture to business and technical people. They both
feature artwork by Dan Willis, famous for "IA Classics: Tools of the
Trade in Comic Book Form." There are full color 6"x8" versions suitable
for postcards, and an 8.5"x11" black and white version for any printer.
Both are covered by a creative commons license and can be modified to
suit your needs.

2) AIFIA SPONSORS 1ST IA CONFERENCE IN SCANDINAVIA
AIfIA will be an official sponsor of the Danish Research Library
Association's Forum for Information Architecture (DF-IA) conference.
The conference will be held March 9th - 10th, 2004 in Korsoer, Denmark.
AIfIA is providing in-kind promotional and logistical support for the
conference under its new Event Sponsorship Program. In return, AIfIA
members receive a discount on registration fees.

-- BOXES AND ARROWS -- http://www.boxesandarrows.com/
Two good recent Boxes and Arrows articles:
1) Contrary to first impression, an “executive dashboard” is not found
in a CIO's car. Rather, an executive dashboard, also known as a manager
dashboard, executive cockpit, or digital cockpit, is a child of what in
the 1980s was referred to as the Executive Information System (EIS).

2) What is Dublin Core? And why would you need a whole conference about
it? The end of September and beginning of October brought
representatives from various countries around the world to a sunny and
warm Seattle, Washington, host of the 2003 Dublin Core Conference.
